As an invaluable OMS360 founding and cornerstone practice, the leading team now consists of seven strong, board-certified oral surgeons across its three locations in Lexington and Richmond, KY.
To better support the local growing community, the practice has expanded their capacity while continuing to provide high quality patient care. As a skilled practitioner, Dr. Melendez’s top priority is providing efficient, individualized care. This is evidenced by recent patients who have complimented and spoke highly of his bedside manner.
Dr. Melendez began his educational journey close to his hometown at the University of Louisville, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology in 2015. He then pursued a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where he graduated cum laude in 2019. To further hone his skills, Dr. Melendez completed a rigorous four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Carle Health in Illinois.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Layne, and their young son, Felix. Dr. Melendez is a passionate outdoor enthusiast and can be found hiking, cycling, or exploring local events. Since returning to Kentucky, the Melendez family have enjoyed settling back into their roots. Dr. Melendez is also proud to practice and serve residents in the same neighborhood he happily calls home.
